In Kagumba Village, women carry much of the weight of daily life, raising children, farming small plots, and managing households, often with no stable source of income. But they’re not waiting for handouts. They’ve identified their own solutions: small farms, vegetable sales, and group savings. What they need is support to take the next step.
The Kagumba Women’s Livelihood Empowerment Project provides that support. We supply women with starter kits for piggery, goat-rearing, and vegetable growing, practical, income-generating tools they can use immediately. Alongside this, we conduct business training to help them manage money, run their ventures, and grow with confidence. Women also form savings groups, giving them access to small loans and a support network that lasts.
The impact
This project will lead to household income rises, children will be better fed and stay in school, and women gaining financial independence. It’s a shift from survival to stability driven by the women themselves. When mothers earn, families thrive. When women lead, communities grow stronger.
