In Kagumba Village, families walk up to 8 kilometers just to collect water water that is often unsafe to drink. This daily burden affects women and children the most, robbing them of time, energy, and health. The lack of clean water is more than an inconvenience; it’s a barrier to education, productivity, and well-being.
Through the Kagumba Village Clean Water Project, we aim to drill a borehole right within the community. This will give families easy access to safe, reliable water every day. The project also includes hygiene and sanitation training to help prevent waterborne diseases and promote long-term health. Community members will be equipped to manage and maintain the water point themselves, ensuring sustainability.
The impact
The outcome will be immediate and lasting: fewer illnesses, more time for children to be in school, and more hours for women to invest in their homes or small businesses. Clean water brings relief, safety, and a chance for families to move forward with dignity and strength.
