Children to Sponsor

Meet the students who need your support to stay in school

Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream. But for many in the villages of Eastern Uganda, the cost of school fees, uniforms, and supplies stands in the way. On this page, you’ll meet children who are eager to learn but need a helping hand to stay in class. When you sponsor a child, you’re not just covering costs, you’re opening a door to hope, education, and a better future. Choose to stand with one today.

Meet Angel, Age 7

Angel is a bright and curious boy in Primary One. He dreams of becoming an engineer — “someone who builds things that help people.”

But Angel’s path to education hasn’t been easy. In 2021, he lost his father in a boda boda accident. Since then, he and his older brother David have been raised by their mother, a hardworking peasant farmer who survives by working on other people’s land in exchange for food.

There are days Angel goes to school hungry. And there are days he can’t go at all because his mother can’t afford the school fees.

With your support, we can help Angel stay in school and keep building toward his dream.

Sponsor Angel’s education today and give him the foundation to become the engineer he dreams to be.

Meet David, Age 5

David is in nursery class and is full of energy, laughter, and love for drawing. He wants to become a teacher someday — “so I can help other children like me.”

David lost his father when he was just a few months old. Since then, he’s been raised by his mother alongside his big brother, Angel. Their mother, a peasant farmer, works on other people’s farms in exchange for food. Despite her efforts, she struggles to cover basic needs — especially school fees.

David is eager to learn. He shows up to school barefoot, often without a lunchbox, but always with a big smile.

With your help, we can keep that smile alive — and give David the education he deserves.

Sponsor David today. Every gift helps build a future.

Meet Whitney, Age 15

Whitney is a Secondary One student with a quiet strength and a powerful dream — to become a lawyer and fight for justice for the underprivileged.

Her passion for justice is deeply personal. A few years ago, Whitney lost her father in a brutal act of mob violence. He was accused of stealing food from a garden — and killed without a trial, without proof, without mercy.

Today, Whitney lives with her stepmother and four siblings. Life is hard. Her stepmother does what she can, but with so many mouths to feed, school fees often become impossible.

Still, Whitney shows up — eager to learn, to read, and to one day change the system that took her father.

With your support, Whitney can stay in school and continue her journey to become the kind of lawyer every community deserves.

Sponsor Whitney. Help her turn pain into purpose.

Meet Maria, Age 13

Maria is in Primary Five and dreams of becoming a doctor. She says she wants to “help children who are always sick but have no one to care for them.”

Maria lives with her mother and four siblings. Her father abandoned the family and married another wife, leaving them with no support. Since then, her mother has struggled to provide, relying on the kindness of neighbors for food and daily needs.

Despite the hardship, Maria remains determined to learn. She walks to school in worn shoes, sometimes without lunch, but never without hope.

Maria’s dream is big — and with your help, it’s possible.
Sponsor her school fees and give her the chance to become the doctor she’s meant to be.

Meet Betty, Age 5

Betty is in middle class and is Maria’s younger sister. She’s playful, curious, and already loves pretending to be a nurse — “so I can help Mama when she’s tired.”

Betty’s father abandoned the family, leaving her mother to raise five children alone. With no stable job, their mother relies on the generosity of neighbors for food and basic needs.

Betty’s future depends on staying in school, having access to early education, and growing up with hope.

With your support, we can help Betty begin her journey toward a brighter future.
Sponsor her today and plant the seeds of learning and healing.

Meet Shakool – the big brother with a teacher’s heart.

Shakool is 11 years old and dreams of becoming a teacher. He believes that “if more children had someone to teach them, the world would be kinder.”

After losing both of his parents to HIV/AIDS, Shakool now lives with his 78-year-old grandmother in rural Uganda. She works as a peasant farmer to feed him and his three younger siblings — but school fees are out of reach.

Today, Shakool is out of school. But he hasn’t stopped learning. He reads whatever scraps of paper he can find and practices writing in the dirt outside their home.

With your support, we can get Shakool back into the classroom — and one step closer to becoming the teacher he longs to be.

Meet Shadia – the songbird with a dream.

Shadia is 8 years old and lights up when she sings. She dreams of becoming a choir leader one day — “someone who leads others in joy.”

But Shadia’s world is quiet these days. She’s out of school, her parents passed away from HIV/AIDS, and her grandmother, though loving, can’t afford school fees for all four children.

Shadia often sings softly to herself while helping around the home. She misses school, her friends, and the songs they used to sing in class.

Help Shadia find her voice again — and support her journey back to school.

Meet Florence – the littlest dreamer.

Florence is just 5, but she watches her older siblings closely, trying to copy their reading and songs. Her dream is simple — to wear a school uniform and walk to class like the other children.

After the loss of her parents to HIV/AIDS, Florence has only known her grandmother’s love and struggle. She’s too young to understand why she can’t go to school yet — but she knows what hope looks like.

Let’s give Florence her very first chance to learn, play, and grow.
Sponsor her school journey — and be part of her very first step.

Meet Cosina – the quiet protector with a heart for healing.

At just 10 years old, Cosina dreams of becoming a nurse. He’s gentle, thoughtful, and often looks after his younger sisters with the kind of care far beyond his years.

After losing both of his parents to HIV/AIDS, Cosina now lives with his 78-year-old grandmother, who works tirelessly as a peasant farmer to care for him and his three siblings. But the little she earns is barely enough for food — school fees are out of reach.

Cosina has been out of school for months. He helps at home, sweeps the compound, and watches other boys walk past in uniform — waiting for his turn.

Your support can bring Cosina back to the classroom, and closer to his dream of helping others one day.

Meet Jovan – the protector with a quiet strength.

Jovan is 13 years old and in Primary Four. He loves football and dreams of becoming a builder — “someone who can fix broken things and make homes for people.”

Jovan’s life hasn’t been easy. He lost his mother during childbirth. His father, a drunkard, was abusive and neglectful. Eventually, Jovan and his younger brother Shakib were rescued by their elderly grandmother.

Their grandmother is kind, but very sick. With no stable income, she struggles to feed them — and school fees are beyond her reach.

Still, Jovan holds onto hope. He wants to go back to school, protect his little brother, and build a different kind of life.

You can help Jovan return to school and rebuild the future he deserves. Sponsor him today.

Meet Shakib – the brave little brother with big dreams.

At 11 years old, Shakib is in Primary Two. He’s gentle, observant, and quietly carries more than any child should.

He lost his mother at birth. Raised briefly by an abusive father, he and his brother Jovan were taken in by their sick grandmother — the only person who showed them love.

Shakib wants to be a doctor one day. Maybe because he sees sickness every day, or maybe because he wants to help children like himself.

But Shakib is now out of school. The little money his grandmother has goes to food — and even that is never enough.

Will you stand with Shakib? Sponsor his school fees and give him a chance to dream out loud again.

Meet Sheila – the silent dreamer with a radiant smile.

Sheila is 15 years old and mute. No one knows her biological family. She was found walking alone through town nine years ago and taken in by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan who has cared for her ever since.

Though she cannot speak, Sheila’s joy speaks volumes. Her eyes light up when she sees fabrics and colors — and she dreams of becoming a fashion designer, a creator of beauty in a world that once overlooked her.

Sheila now has the opportunity to attend a deaf fashion school — a place that can nurture her talent and give her a future in fashion.
The cost to enroll Sheila in the program for one year is $400, and this can be given in monthly support.

Let’s help Sheila tell her story — not with words, but through fashion, fabric, and bold design.
Sponsor her journey today.

Meet Vianey

Meet Vianey, an 8-year-old Primary Two student with a heart full of dreams.

She lives with her mother, who works hard selling vegetables by the roadside to support them.

Since the COVID pandemic, their father has been absent, leaving the family to face life’s challenges on their own.

Despite this, Vianey is determined to build a brighter future. She dreams of becoming a mechanic — fixing cars and motorcycles to help her community keep moving forward.

With resilience and hope, Vianey is ready to break barriers and chase her passion.

Meet Victor

Victor is 12 years old and currently in Primary Five.

He lives with his mother, who sells vegetables on the roadside to provide for them after their father disappeared during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the obstacles they face, Samuel is determined to succeed.

He dreams of becoming a teacher so he can inspire and educate other children in his community.

Samuel’s passion for learning and his strong sense of responsibility make him a shining example of hope and perseverance
